The launcher was only started in January. We had to start at the base: could we run an engine?
Fortunately, thanks to Thomas and his team, this was achieved without any problems.
The initial concept for a launcher was to use a single wheel. It was a concept that worked, but it wasn't great. There were two main problems with this launcher:
He couldn't throw the balls very far. Our goal was to be able to hit the target worth 120 points, but we weren't even close.
This engine overheated very quickly, which would not be ideal during a competition.
We therefore had to rethink our concept. We therefore decided to change the principle of our launcher and put two wheels one in front of the other.
This concept was better, but unfortunately it had the same problems as the first model.
So we tried to go back to the initial model, but adding more powerful engines. This option, despite not being perfect, was much better than the other two. So this is the one we chose.
Base/Frame/Intake
A bit like the launcher, the base, the chassis and the intake really saw progress at the start of 2024. We were fortunately able to find a base from another competition so it was possible to use it as a base (HAHA)
Recently, our base managed to roll. Here's a photo taken just after the base rolled for the first time:
Programming
The majority of programming for the robot was done in January, by Thomas.
Thanks to its code, the launcher was able to launch and the robot was able to move.
Here is an extract of its code:
Web Site
At the beginning of planning the website, we wanted to take inspiration from existing Lego websites, since the Lego Movie is a bit like a parody of the films. Here are some mockups from these sites:
Since creating these Moqups, we've progressed really slowly, and at the time this was written, we were just hoping to be able to get the website back on time.
Here are some images from the older version of the website:
Finally, thanks to the hard work of William and his team (Sarah, Anthony, Aliyah and Félix), it was possible to create this final version 100% hand-coded and created from scratch in HTML, CSS and Javascript!
